HOW IT WORKS

Our 5-Step Stump Grinding & Removal Process

At Paulo Landscaping & Tree Removal, LLC, we make eliminating unsightly tree stumps quick, clean, and effortless. Backed by over 25 years of experience and commercial-grade machinery, our step-by-step grinding process restores your lawn or commercial property safely and efficiently.

Frequently Asked Questions About Stump Grinding

Stump grinding uses a heavy-duty rotating disk with carbide-tipped teeth to shave the stump down several inches (typically 6 to 12 inches) below ground level into wood mulch. This is the most efficient and cost-effective method because it leaves surrounding soil and structures intact. Complete stump removal involves excavating the entire root ball out of the ground, which creates a large hole and is usually reserved for major site construction or excavation projects.

We typically grind stumps 6 to 12 inches below the surface, which destroys the main root flare and allows you to backfill the area with topsoil, lay down sod, or sow grass seed. If you plan to plant a new tree directly in the same spot, let us know during your estimate so we can grind deeper and clear out major lateral roots.

Grinding a stump produces a mixture of wood mulch and soil. By default, we pile the mulch back into the hole to allow it to settle naturally over time. However, upon request, we can haul away the excess wood chips, supply topsoil, and seed the area so your yard looks clean and completely restored.

Yes. In addition to our heavy commercial machinery, we utilize compact, maneuverable stump grinders specifically designed to pass through standard residential gates (as narrow as 36 inches) and access hard-to-reach backyard spaces without causing turf damage.
